After the holidays have come and gone, don’t throw your Christmas tree away! Instead, bring it to the SMSC Organics Recycling Facility where it will be repurposed into mulch, compost, and other useful products in an earth-friendly manner. Not only will you be doing the environment a favor, but you will be saving money for those after-Christmas clearance sales and other fun winter activities.
Recycle your tree for free at the SMSC Organics Recycling Facility during the annual Christmas Tree Drop-Off program between Monday, December 28, and Friday, January 29. Trees, garlands, wreaths, and spruce tops will be accepted during the facility’s normal business hours Monday-Friday from 8am-3pm, no reservation needed. Your tree must be free of all non-compostable decorations, tinsel, and flocking before being dropped off.
As a tribe committed to being a good steward of the earth, this environmentally friendly program allows the trees to be repurposed and utilized for composting operations. Please note the SMSC Organics Recycling Facility will be closed on New Year’s Eve (December 31), New Year’s Day (January 1), and Martin Luther King Jr. Day (January 18).
